Editorial

Having been the result of many years of hard work, this version of the USA 10M Terrains Project is well worth installing. This works to help offer a new range of mesh terrains that looks to try and cover the whole of the United States. While that is undoubtedly an ambitious goal, this looks to do so with a more detailed, authentic and loving terrain below.

Despite being one of the most popular nations in the world and for simulation, America is more like "Generica" in original simulations. With this, you turn the USA of FSX into something a little more enjoyable to look at. While it’s not complete, this version offers a huge amount of coverage that wasn’t there previously.

A Wholesale Change

This helps to re-work elevations that have been improved, helping the whole United States look far more impressive than beforehand. It’s made using the latest Ned 10m elevation models, and is made using compression as you might expect. So, make sure you make plenty of space for this to unpack and install. While over 2GB in size, it unpacks at a fair chunk more so be prepared!

Overall, though, this is a fantastic addition to any simulation fan. If you are light on US mesh mods, this can be a good starting point. Also, despite the big improvement that it introduces, it does not have a huge hearing on FPS. If you enjoy relatively stable US flights just now, you shouldn’t see a major drop-off here.

Given this includes everything that you need in the one download, I’d recommend trying this out. It’s a fine addition and can make a very good foundation for anyone taking their first steps into modding. Installation is easy and well-explained ,and the resulting output is well worth learning for.
