Expert Overview

This highly detailed repaint for Microsoft Flight Simulator faithfully captures the Cessna 152 once flown during private pilot training at GFW Aeroservices at Boire Field (KASH) in Nashua, NH. Meticulously crafted by Tom "FlyingsCool" Perry, the texture set reflects the 1984 paint job and includes subtle touches like an optional red prop hub, alongside accurate details from the aircraft’s history, such as its export to Poland in 2007.

From my experience testing it in the sim, the livery meshes naturally with the C-152’s default model and adds a realistic flair reminiscent of real-world general aviation training. It brings a nostalgic charm while maintaining sharp visual fidelity, making it an excellent choice for both casual flyers and serious virtual aviators seeking an authentic, historical repaint for their flight simulation adventures.

This repaint is for one of the Cessnas I flew out of GFW Aeroservices at Boire Field (KASH) in Nashua, NH during my private pilot flight training in the mid-nineties.

N95508 Cessna 152 in hangar in MSFS 2020.The plane was eventually exported to Poland in 2007.

I can't remember what color the prop hub was, and I haven't found a picture of the front of the plane. From my research, it looks like Cessna painted it their main white color for this paint job (1984), so that's what I've made the default.

If you'd rather have a red hub, just replace the three prop texture files with the ones from the Red Prop directory included in the ZIP file.

Also in this directory is an aircraft.cfg file, copy the next section into its appropriate place and be sure to replace the X with a number and all the similar sections are numbered consecutively.

All these textures were created by modifying the default texture set delivered with MSFS 2020 for the C-152.

How to install this mod

MSFS livery / repaint
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Locate your MSFS Community folder

All MSFS add-ons live in the Community folder. Microsoft Store / Game Pass version: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\. Steam version: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\. Tip: enable Developer Mode in MSFS to see your exact Community folder path.
  3. Copy the livery folder into Community

Drag the extracted livery folder into your Community folder. The base aircraft must be installed for the livery to appear.
  4. Restart MSFS

Close MSFS completely and relaunch. The new content appears in the Content Manager, on the World Map, or in the aircraft/livery selector.
  5. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

I love that this random repaint from little known NH is on here.

I have flown a similar plane in my day. I do not think it was this one when I was flying out of KASH when I was 11/12.

I agree with the previous two posts. The instructions included with this repaint are unclear and wrong. Please add clearer instructions. (Shouldn't the livery be for a non-Asobo base model?)

Ha! Excellent! I remember flying this plane! I have a picture of it after a flight from 2005, the hub was white.

Can't find the aircraft, the way to install is not clear to me, some of the folders mentioned in the Installation Instructions are not in my Microsoft Simulator folders I installed on my PC.

I have the full MSFS2020 install and the directory path doesn't exist nor the JSON file location. The instructions need to be clearer if possible.
