FSX Painted Post Airport Scenery

Painted Post Airport (7N1) in Corning, New York gets a full modernization for FSX, replacing the old grass strip with a relocated paved runway, paved taxiways, accurate markings, and updated lighting. The scenery adds buildings, an apron with GA parking, plus static aircraft and vehicles, while clearing trees near both runway ends.

Painted Post Airport (7N1), Corning, New York (NY). Here is an improved version of the stock Painted Post Airport. It was a grass strip in FSX but has been paved in real life with paved taxiways. Now the airport is completely revamped, moving the runway, adding taxiways, runway markings and lights. Includes added buildings, an apron with GA parking, static planes and vehicles. Also removes some trees from both ends of the runway. By Jim Cook.

Here is an improved version of the stock Painted Post Airport. It was a grass strip in FSX but has been paved in real life with paved taxiways. I completely revamped the airport, moving the runway, adding taxiways, runway markings and lights. I added buildings, an apron with GA parking, static planes and vehicles. I removed some trees from both ends of the runway.

I use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed. Updates made using AirNav diagrams and Google Earth to be as accurate as possible. All work done with Flight 1's AFX program and Instant Scenery.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the file 7N1_AFX_JC.bgl and 7N1_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
