Editorial

As a big change and addition to the usual designs that I use this FSDzigns package was something that really caught the eye – it was not a brand I was too aware of or had much experience with in general so I was instantly intrigued to go here and try out what they offered me. What I will say is that it offers me something truly awesome, and does a wonderful job of making sure that if you are a fan of the Lockheed L-049A Constellation aircraft that you will be able to thoroughly enjoy the entire package here.

It does a wonderful job of touching up the real thing and making it explode into life, giving you that vibrant and attentive design that can be hard to shake. The entire package provides you with TWA, KLM, and PAA bare metal liveries; these look great and have that awesome classic look to them, endearing the design to myself (basic is best!).

That being the case, the most important improvements have been the upgrades to the model itself and the panels inside. With new XML gauges that do a wonderful job of improving performance and giving you more control, you also get access to the new GMAX aircraft design and the fresh panels that do all they can to really bring your system together.

This comes with a fresh package which includes various new panels and sounds which all do a great job of selling the aircraft and making it really come across as professional.

Best of all, the installation process is equally simple as well so you can enjoy these new designs and sounds without having to do too much – it really is just a case of grabbing the files that you want and dragging them in on top of what you are dealing with. It’s a nice and easy process that will, quite easily, represent the aircraft far more authentically than it ever could have been before now.

However, please be aware that this edition of the product does not have a specific virtual cockpit added in so you will be missing this feature, unfortunately.

Although, that aside, this does a truly wonderful job of selling the program and ensuring that you feel as if you are flying a classic representation of this awesome craft. It’s a brilliant representation of the aircraft – the L-049A Connie that was flying around in the late 40s – but it also does a wonderful job of making sure you have access to liveries that came later.

Lastly, the addition of features such as new flight dynamics entirely shift the direction of your flying enjoyment and makes it much easier in general to understand and have some fun with this model – it sells the original thing perfectly and makes it very easy to get used to the addition of features like fuel distribution and flight engineer panels, all of which can play a significant role in your overall flight style – if you like the L-094A then start here!
