This freeware release refines the default layout at Midden-Zeeland Airfield (EHMZ) in the Netherlands, bringing it closer to its real-world counterpart. Designed by Joost de Wit, it provides fresh parking positions and runway alignments for general aviation flights. Developed with Airport Design Editor (often abbreviated as ADE) and relying solely on default building models, this add-on aims to give virtual pilots an authentic experience without introducing custom 3D structures.

Key Layout Modifications

This package incorporates updated airfield data (commonly referred to as AFCAD files) for Midden-Zeeland Airfield. The facility is situated in the southwestern region of the country, conveniently positioned for scenic flights over rural landscapes. Since it focuses on general aviation, the field features shorter runway lengths and limited parking. Nonetheless, the area accommodates a variety of smaller aircraft, making it a pleasant stop for pilots exploring this corner of the Netherlands.

Compatibility and Simulator Version

Engineered primarily for Microsoft Flight Simulator X (tested on the default version), it should in most cases function with FSX SP1 and possibly FSX SP2. Although not officially verified in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, some users might attempt to run it there. If you encounter any issues, get in touch with the developer for feedback.

Installation Steps

  1. Locate the two .bgl files provided.
  2. Copy both files into your FSX/Addon Scenery/Scenery folder.
  3. Confirm that the Addon Scenery folder is activated within your simulator’s scenery library.

Uninstallation Procedure

  1. Open your FSX/Addon Scenery/Scenery directory.
  2. Delete the two .bgl files associated with this mod.

Important Frequency Adjustment

In the real world, Midden-Zeeland Airfield utilizes a Radio frequency rather than an official Tower frequency. Because the simulator environment generally remains silent if a Radio frequency is used, the developer incorporated a Tower frequency to ensure that pilots can still receive verbal acknowledgments for takeoff and landing within the sim.

Enjoy your flights around the southwestern coast and make full use of these refined layouts. Acknowledgments go to Joost de Wit for crafting this helpful update to enhance virtual operations at EHMZ.
