Editorial

Sometimes, it can be nice to hop into the cockpit of something a bit more “out there” and with the critically acclaimed superjet style you always know that you are getting something a bit outrageous.

Preview screenshot

The style of this aircraft comes together perfectly when you are using it, ensuring that the entire project can be enjoyed from your end – while this is based on a fictitious look, you can easily see the kind of references that it used when it was being put together. The Excalibur that you are downloading here has plenty of realistic features added in there, ensuring that you are going to feel like you are flying something quite special.

After all, it’s always nice to see what you could be flying if the world of aviation just worked a bit differently, right? Well, with this mod you’ll get to see just that!

The aircraft is shaped rather comically, and it looks very unique in comparison to what you might be used to flying. That said, it comes equipped with just about everything that you could need to keep the aircraft in tip top shape. The Excalibur comes with the maneuverability and the style of a jet, with the precision and the carrying capacity of a passenger carrier. It also comes with rather impressive STOL capabilities, which makes the whole thing a fair bit more exciting to fly around in.

More impressive, this comes with a totally dynamic virtual cockpit so that you can get access to the kind of precision and the level of features that you need to truly fly something like this. The 2 liveries added in also blend in with the cockpit well, making the whole jet come together perfectly in terms of the shade and the style of the overall body. Indeed, it also comes with reflecting textures and animated parts such as moving parts, opening doors and various other minor additions.

In short, the whole thing comes together perfectly and gives you the help that you need in putting together the most enjoyable flight possible! I’ve shot through the skies in this multiple times and the novelty does not really wear off; it’s just that exciting and fun to fly around in. indeed, the aircraft even comes with some rather spectacular features like 3D effects, customized gauges and panels as well as a pilot for that extra layer of novelty. In short, the whole thing comes together and looks absolutely outstanding!

Whilst I prefer a bit of realism in my FS escapades, I can always make a little exception for something like this.

A real fun plane to fly. There isn't a field in fs9 that you can't land with only half the runway. Plus super long-range and nice and quiet in the cockpit.

finally found the stratosjet lol saw it on a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InCHzX0G19s at least it works on fsx

Flies perfectly in FS9. I don't remember how it worked in FS2002 (that's 3 years ago). It works with FSX, but kills the framerate to about 0.5 fps. Great airplane though.

Crashed FS9, so it's no good. Since it has crashed several others, there must be a bug.

Aircraft installs on one version of zip file (previous), StratEx1 file does not install. Gauges missing on both versions of zip. Tries several work arounds, still no luck. Tried it their way, my way and everyway in between. Only other option is to get permission to build a whole new panel (or get them to), using a panel creator, until then, Excalibur is grounded and stacked in back of the hangar. Don't know if I'm even willing to try the 2004 sys crash bit. But I do have all the requirements to pass muster. Have loaded it OK and slewed it around (towed it) on the ground, but without enging gauges and such, I'm unwilling to commit to an engine start, I don't know, I'm just funny about that I guess. It's real, in my head!

Either all of you simply can't fly or have pretty lame PC's, because I installed and flew the plane, and everything is peaches and cream. It's not supposed to make your game crash, and it is most definitely flyable. So suck it up and get over yourselves.

it flew ok,but the panel is crap!
