Editorial

I have to admit, the first time I seen this little thing, I burst out laughing. It looked like something that you could build in your garden, or the type of aircraft that was deemed “futuristic” in a 30s movie.

Then, I downloaded this mod and tried it out. One thing I do love is being wrong about aviation. With the BD-5 collection, I could not have been any more wrong!

Home-Built Hilarity?

This home-built take experimental aircraft was included with a fresh new Prop edition. This came included with some insights and information form the genuine real-life owner of the aircraft. Thanks to this, it feels far more like the real thing should – light, floaty and very engaging to fly around in.

The developer also went the extra mile when it came to adding in some extra liveries. From the new paint liveries that include famous companies such as Coors Light and even Acrostar from Octopussy, the James Bond movie to the extra model, this looks wonderfully authentic.

I had a huge amount of fun flying around in the skies with this little delight. It’s an aircraft that I almost feel bad for laughing at now I have used it here!

The new flight dynamics help to sell an aircraft that looks hilarious but means business, too. I was instantly impressed with how the aircraft flew and the general feel that it gave off. To me, this was one of the most enjoyable ways to fly at present. It’s got style and a quality I would never have expected, and therefore it can be a very enjoyable piece of kit to fly around in.

So, to sum up the BD-5 is nothing like the little joker I was expecting. Instead, it’s definitely become a bit of a cult hit for me!

This is a great model, amazing interior with vc, flies nicely and is the perfect download for people who like BD-5's.

I would like to know, however, where the mixture controls are? And how can I manually start the aircraft. I've tried to but it won't start unless I press ctrl+e.

the bd-5j can go 200 plus knots but has a approach speed of 75 knots, it can land on the carrier @ knzy! VERY NICE DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE IT A 100000000!!!!!

THIS IS THE PLANE I WAS GOING TO BUY BACK IN 1976 FOR $5000 AND IT WAS GOING TO BE MADE IN CLEVELAND OHIO AND THE FACTORY WAS GOING TO BE HUGE AND PUT OUT A 1000 OR MORE PER YEAR. THIS PLANE IS A JOY TO FLY AND IS AS GOOD AS THE JET ONE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT EVERY MEMBER DOWNLOAD THIS ONE AND IT IS WORTH ABOUT $10

Brilliant plane (BD-5J), cockpit is panaramic and view is stunning through it. This plane will take some abuse as well. Has full VC and Auto Pilot. I hop from UK to France and back in this one a lot. Recomend it fully!

This is one of the most enjoyable planes in my collection. It is very fun to practice landings with, and at 280kts you can get from airport to airport in a flash. This is a great plane!

Out of 35 + planes on my FSX , this is the most fun to fly , it lands great and the panel is pretty darn good for all around flight. This is my GO-TO for touch and go`s on short fields. I love it

Very fun to fly, added instrumentration lets you take it anywhere, any time. Lets you get somewhere fairly fast and provides an excellant view while doing so. I've seen better graphics but this one is better than average, I sure would be proud of it if I had made this model.
