FSX / P3D panel / gauge

FSX Basic Information Gauge

InfoGauge delivers a clean, oversized digital readout of altitude, indicated airspeed, and heading, ideal for quick scans when the default Shift+Z text feels too small. Designed for FSX, it integrates as a lightweight panel window or gauge and supports use across multiple aircraft for consistent basic flight information.

InfoGauge is a simple digital altitude, indicated airspeed, and heading display. It was prompted by a forum member that wanted a bigger text display than what Shift+Z provides by default. By Don Bodenstedt.

  • Put the InfoGauge.cab in either the Target Plane's panel folder or FSX/Gauges for universal use.
  • Open the Target Plane's panel.cfg in notepad.
  • Add the WindowXX=Info line to the target panel.cfg [Window Titles]section and change the XX to the next number.
  • Add the description to the bottom of the list of [WindowXX], just before [Vcockpit01](if it exists).
  • Change the XXs in [WindowXX] and zorder=XX to the same as the new WindowXX=Info.

[WindowXX] actually can be placed anywhere below the [Window Titles] section and be recognized, but, having things in their proper order makes it much easier to find them.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D panel / gauge
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place panel files

Panel files go inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{aircraft}\panel\. Back up the existing panel folder first.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
