Editorial
I downloaded this aircraft mod with the intention of evaluating the aircraft look and feel as much has the performance, but I have to say that the way it flies was something that really gripped me. Frighteningly quick and more than capable of blowing away even my greatest expectations, this model was something that I really cherished using for a period.
It’s fast and its fun and it offers and easy and effective way of enjoying the world of aviation from a military perspective without feeling like it’s over the top or in a cartoon kind of environment; it’s authentic.
The Design
One of the most important factors of this aircraft was obviously the design, as I wanted to see what the Hellenic Air Force would look like in a game environment. I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen a Greek aircraft jet in the past never mind had the pleasure of flying one, so this offered me something different for a change.
The attention to detail as well as the scope of detail was hugely impressive, capturing the aircraft in a proper light and making it look the part. With all of its little extras included to make it flies the way that it should, this aircraft feels genuinely authentic once you get started.
The Detail
A major factor in the model as the access to the weapons across the board, giving you likes of IRIS-5 and AIM-120C AMRAAM missiles as well as JSOM and WCMD ground attack firepower. Aside from having enough firepower on you to flatten a city, this aircraft also came with plenty of extra little details that made it even feel better.
The introduction of LANTIRN navigation and targeting as well as ASPIS electronical warfare suites ensures that you get all the help that you need in seeing the aircraft from a whole new perspective. For me, as someone who is a bit of a pacifist, it was certainly en eye-opener to see this aircraft from a technological standpoint as much as anything else.
It made a huge factor in making sure that the aircraft would fly as you might imagine, ensuring that it captures the culture and style of the real thing perfectly.
The Precision
The attention to detail and the attention paid to even the most miniscule and ridiculous details was hugely impressive to me. The people who worked on it are very talented individuals and done a great job of capturing each of the different liveries and designs.
Most importantly, though the performance precision is spot on – this flies just as you might have imagined it would, with all of the needed extras added on there to really make sure this thing flies like a dream.
For fans of the aircraft who have never had the pleasure of enjoying it before this can be the perfect chance to do so.
