KPHX, SimFlyers Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Arizona (AZ). Adds 194 general aviation parking spots to the AFCAD file from Dan Relfe. Also adjusts the traffic flow to stop having bottlenecks. The general aviation parking is designed so that regional turboprops do not use it (except for two or three that are undergoing maintenance). By Chris Behnke.
This scenery is designed for the SimFlyers Phoenix Sky Harbor FS2004 scenery. The main addition to this file are the 194 General Aviation parking spots in anticipation of all of the General Aviation AI that has and is planned to come out. These parking places coincide with the 'T's that are found in the scenery and the hangars. The parking radii are so coded to ensure that only GA parks in them. However, there may still be issues. Unfortunately, I do not have enough GA flying in and out of PHX in order to test all of the spaces. If you notice anything weird happening and are at a loss, contact me and maybe we can figure out what's going on.
This file also fixes the traffic flow at PHX. I was getting frustrated with the previous flow and spent over an hour trying to fix it using all sorts of tricks. But, as usual, the solution was extremely simple. I just disconnected the eastern bridge and all traffic now crosses the two western bridges. I think you'll agree that this is a very realistic solution. Traffic will only takeoff on runway 7L-25R (unless it is a KC-135 staying in the pattern, then it will also land on that runway). Traffic will only land on runway 8-26. Traffic will land and take-off on runway 7R-25L. This results in a very smooth flow and utilizes the available ILS systems (25R does not have an ILS, but is plenty long for takeoff, since aircraft generally need more room to take-off).
