DC-707? Now that never existed.
As a matter of fact, this is not fictional, it existed. This was Boeing's prototype for the AF wide body tanker contract competing with the DC-10. At the time I was a KC-135A crew cheif at Grissom AFB and read about this particular model in A&AS in the 70s.
The KC-10's that I have seen in the many years I spent in the Air Force were actual DC-10's converted into a KC-10 so scrap the 747 it has never been an air re-fueler. And the work horse of the air refueling fleet was the KC-135 and that was a converted DC-707.
