Optimized specifically for the rugged Sunshine Coast landscape, this mod addresses the challenging default mesh by recommending a custom mesh solution like Ortho4XP. It was even tested in X-Plane 10.51, showing impressive backward compatibility. From its accurate modeling of the coastal terrain to the vibrant, real-world feel of the docks and terminal, this add-on provides a top-tier upgrade for pilots searching for a more authentic Canadian flight experience.

Sechelt Aerodrome is located 1.3 nautical miles south southeast of Sechelt-Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada. Both the airport and the harbour are modelled in this package. The harbour features a fully custom terminal building and docks (the nearby mine is also modelled).

Special thanks to AeroPedro - Aircraft models used in static aircraft (please do not redistribute), Paul Mort - Long hangar/construction vehicles, and Nonimap – Orthophotos. Tested in X-Plane 10.51 and features ZL18 ground textures. This scenery needs a custom mesh (Ortho4XP) in order to deal with the terrible default mesh.

How to install this mod

X-Plane scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy into Custom Scenery

    Place the scenery folder into X-Plane 12/Custom Scenery/.

  3. Set scenery load order

    X-Plane loads sceneries top-to-bottom from Custom Scenery/scenery_packs.ini. Custom airports should be ABOVE mesh and ortho-imagery.

  4. Restart X-Plane

    Close X-Plane completely and relaunch. The new content loads automatically.

  5. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
