The Beechcraft AT-11 for FSX Native v1.0. Models by Milton Shupe, panel, and gauges by Scott Thomas, textures by the late Damian Radice, and Sounds by Nigel Richards. Four models and ten textures included. Damian's Paint kit is available at SOH and Flightsim. Also look for Larry Green's Scenery for the Hobbs Army Airforce (HAAF) B-17 Bomber Training Base featuring AI flights, static models, and AT-11's used for new pilots, navigators, gunners, and bomber training.

AT-11 in flight.The AT-11 was the standard U.S. Army Air Forces World War II bombing trainer; about 90 percent of the more than 45,000 USAAF bombardiers trained in AT-11s.

This package contains 4 models (turret, observation bubble, capped turret, and civilian cargo) and 10 texture sets. A paint kit is available at Sim-outhouse.com and flightsim.com.

INSTALLATION

  1. Open the aircraft folder and copy the AT-11 folder to your FSX/Airplanes folder.
  2. Open the effects folder and copy the contents to your FSX/effects folder.

Features:

  • Yoke: Hide/unhide the yoke using a clickspot on the floor just forward of the yoke stem.
  • Doors: Use the standard shift+e, and the shift+e, 2 for the bomb doors

OPTIONS:

  1. There are some load options in the aircraft.cfg. Simply change or comment out the weights.
  2. The aircraft.cfg contact points section has two tailwheel setups; one castering, one steerable. Select the one you wish and comment out the other.

The VC (virtual cockpit) of the AT-11.I hope this helps.

Operating Comments

  • 1. Doors - shift+e
  • 2. Bomb doors - shift+e then quickly press 2
  • 3. Hide/unhide the Yoke - Clickspot on the floor just forward of the yoke stem
  • 4. Tailwheel - to convert to "steerable", open aircraft.cfg and swap the first contact point per instructions there

Takeoff Hint - set flap one notch, give a few notches (1+ degree) of nose up trim; rotate at 85+
Climb out - climb at 500-1250 fpm depending on weight and preference, keep trimming down as necessary to not exceed climb rate and speed will increase
Landing - Approach at <115 full flaps under power; slow to 90 over the fence decreasing power and speed as you cross; begin a slow flare at +15' and touchdown below 80 kias at/near 3-point landing with light power. With low weight, you can touchdown around 60kias.

Really well detailed with a pretty good flight model. I also have the FlySimWare paid version of this and the standard B18 and these are nearly as good as the payware versions. Just not as many camera views like no bombardier view or turret views. Otherwise, I like flying them still.

This is a great work, the plane fly's like a dream and the detail is superb. All of the gauges knobs and switches work and the VC is the best. A must have for any aircraft collector.
