This release presents a freeware Air France Airbus A380-800 for enthusiasts seeking a highly detailed rendition of the iconic superjumbo. Developed by the Project Airbus team and repainted by Demetris Themistocleous, it delivers an array of advanced animations and precise flight modeling. While originally engineered for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, this package remains mostly compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator X and includes the complete base model.
Air France’s Wide-Body Flagship
Air France has long utilized the Airbus A380-800 for high-capacity routes across the globe. The aircraft, renowned for its expansive double-deck layout, offers both operational efficiency and a modern cabin configuration. This add-on depicts the Air France livery in meticulous detail, capturing the airline’s signature color scheme and branding on the largest passenger airliner currently in service.
Key Technical Highlights
- Dynamic Wing Flex – Responds to real-time factors like ground spoilers, angle of attack, and fuel distribution.
- Accurate LAF (Load Alleviation Function) Simulation – Provides a realistic depiction of aileron behavior under flight loads.
- Parallel Bogies – Each bogie on the main landing gear moves independently for enhanced ground handling.
- Drooping Control Surfaces – Control surfaces automatically droop when the engines are shut down.
- Hard-Coded Double Strobes – Built-in strobe effects without needing separate model modifications.
- Realistic Animations – Covers items like pack vents, probe sensors, idle reversers, fan startups/shutdowns, and more.
