This freeware high-fidelity texture set brings a US Navy Beechcraft T-34B Mentor livery to aspiring and experienced sim pilots who use Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It showcases a classic orange-and-white scheme assigned to VT-1 operating from Saufley Field in the early 1960s. Repainted and prepared by John Detrick, this release only includes the external artwork package, so users need the payware Carenado T-34B model (acquired separately) to experience this add-on in its entirety.
Highlighted Features of This T-34B Trainer
- Authentic Naval Color Scheme: Reflects the iconic paint layout used by primary training aircraft flown at Naval Air Station Saufley Field during the 1960s.
- Accurate Markings: Incorporates correct squadron identifiers, maintaining historical accuracy for enthusiasts who enjoy period-specific repaints.
- Payware Integration: Designed specifically for the Carenado T-34B Mentor, ensuring precise fit and compatibility in FSX SP2 Acceleration (Microsoft Flight Simulator X).
- Professional Artwork: Developed by John Detrick, who painstakingly applied realistic detailing to highlight the airframe’s rivets and custom stencils.
Background and Historical Context
The Beechcraft T-34B Mentor served as a primary trainer for new US Navy pilots mastering fundamental flight techniques and navigation procedures. Notably, Saufley Field, located near Pensacola, Florida, was a hub for these training operations, where many rookie aviators earned their wings. This repaint depicts the era’s distinctive color pattern, echoing an airframe that would have prepared pilots for more advanced multi-engine or jet training down the line.

the only A/C on this page with a tail hook is the US Navy T-45C Goshawk
Regards.I am very happy to have found flyawaysimulation. Do I pray you can tell me which helix airplane you/he/she is equipped with hook of tail? Quantico T-34B or T-34B VT-1 or T-34 N134HC? Kindest regards Pellegrino Festa
