DC-3, with TURBOPROP engines, orig for FS9, now in FSX. Textures are Christmas theme ('Santair') orig by Mark 'Dark Moment' Beaumont. Mods and package by Charles Backus (napamule). Happy Holidays / New Year.

DC-3 with turboprop engines. You will need to use default DC-3 panel and sound, as only cfg, air, model, and texture files are included. Has spoiler, and rev-thrust for braking, for those 1000 ft 'ice strips'. You can use A1-H Skyraider (single prop, but it's 'ok') for very good sound.

Very 'agile', will takeoff and/or land at 50 kts, if you do it right. Top speed is 270 kts, with cruise at 220 kts, and stalls out at 43 and 34 kts. Lots of climbing power. It will lift off at 60 kts, for that short 'lawn' at Grandma's.

Easy to set up with Auto Pilot, by using keyboard: 'Z'=AP 'On', then Ctrl+Z=Alt Hold, Ctrl+H=Hdg Hold, and Ctrl+V=Level. You use Ctrl+Z (Alt) and you can hand fly (turn) without loosing altitude. You can take off with spoiler on, if you forget, but check the 2D panel, it has speed brake light. Even the mini panel has speed brake light, for safe flying.

Taxi speed is controlled with 3 taps of F2, then use brakes and tap F3 and back to F2 to keep at slow speed. Lock/unlock rear wheel with Shift+G. It turns good, but must maintain LOW speed, otherwise it goes STRAIGHT (too much power). Not so bad, once you get used to it. It's Microsoft design, not mine, so talk to THEM (heehee). It's 'tricked' out to max, just for fun, but can be addicting (fun) to fly. Even does roll (will losse 2,000 ft, so watch it).
