Bata Int'l Airport, Bata, Equatorial Guinea. Updates the main airport on the mainland of the nation for AI traffic - specifically the World of AI packages. Airport update by Reggie Fields.

Main ramp area of Bata Int'l Airport.

Main ramp area of Bata Int'l Airport.

Overview - This updates Bata Intl the airport serving the main city of the nation of Equatorial Guinea located on the mainland for AI traffic - specifically the World of AI packages.

Location - FGBT is located a few miles north of the city of Bata. The city and airport are located on the Atlantic coast of the mainland portion of Equatorial Guinea. Bata is the only commercial airport in the nation on the mainland, but has minimal commercial traffic.

The default FSX mesh has this airport located approx 500M from the ocean at an elevation of about 1,840 feet. That huge ocean front cliff is not my fault. That is Microsoft's issue.

One version of the airport update is included for the default mesh.

Another version of the airport is included for people with the FSGenesis World Terrain Mesh. That addon drops the airport elevation, and several hundred square miles of nearby territory to the proper elevation.

Airport changes - Google Earth imagery is June 2004.

  • Changed runway numbering to 04/22 to match DAFIF and Wikipedia info.
  • Updated main airport apron layout to match satellite photos.
  • Narrowed the too large airport background polygon.
  • Updated parking.
  • Extended autogen exclusion past the runway ends to ensure proper approach will not contact the trees.

This is a daylight, VFR only airport - no lights, no instrument approach procedures. There is a default NDB located near the airport.

Parking Codes:

No parking codes are used for this airport. At this time the maximum airline traffic is two ATR-42 aircraft from Ceiba Intercontinental. Parking spots "Gate 2" and "Gate 4" are RAMP_GA spots 15.3M in size for the ATR aircraft.

There are two A320/B737 sized spots to handle possible new traffic - type RAMP_GA, size - 18.3M, name - Gate 1 & Gate 3

There are 5 GA Small (7.3M) and 2 GA Medium (9.3M) parking spots on the south apron.
