Mfuwe International Airport (FLMF) gets a more realistic layout and ground environment with an updated AFCAD and terrain files, improving parking, taxi flows, and overall immersion for bush and regional ops near South Luangwa National Park in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Requires Airport_Buildings_AP.bgl in the global scenery library so the terminal displays correctly.

About Mfuwe:

Mfuwe is a small village in the Eastern Province of Zambia, known as a gateway to South Luangwa National Park. Mfuwe isn't so much a village as a long strip of road connecting the airport to the Mfuwe Bridge over the Luangwa River. The center of Mfuwe, in the loosest sense of the word, is around the BP petrol station.Mfuwe has grown considerably over the last 10 years and informally there are at least 5000 people living there.

Experts have dubbed South Luangwa as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and not without reason. The concentration of game around the Luangwa river and it's ox bow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa.

About Mfuwe International Airport:

Mfuwe International airport has been up graded to international status so that direct flights can take place to the South Luangwa National Park.Scheduled services run to Lusaka and Chipata. Flights are twice daily (to Lusaka) in the high season but sporadic (or stopped entirely) in the low season. Charter flights allow access to Lilongwe (Malawi), Mwaleshi (North Luangwa), Shiwa Ngandu, Kasanka and other domestic airfields. The airport is about 25 km from Mfuwe Bridge,

The FSX one was not convincing enough! I have tried to make it close to realistic as possible using Airport Scenery Creator v1.37 [ available for free at Avsim ] and the objects that are available for use from FSX. Hope this will make your stop-over more enjoyable!

Installation:

  1. Drop the FLMF.bgl and FLMF_cvx.BGL files into your FSX/Addon scenery/scenery folder, AND FURTHER MORE move the Scenery_Global_Scenery file (Airport_Buildings_AP.bgl) to the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\Global\Scenery" folder. This is because the terminal building was not part of FSX Standard Object Library. [ I have FSX SP2 Acceleration ] otherwise the Terminal building will not show up on the airport.
  2. That's it and away you go !!! Watch out for the wildlife on the airport, as this is a National Park Airport.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place AFCAD file

    AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
