Lanseria International Airport (FALA/HLA) brings South Africa’s busy Johannesburg-side gateway to life with updated AFCAD layout, runway and taxiway data, parking, and improved airport ground features for realistic regional, corporate, and diplomatic operations in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The scenery uses default assets and requires FSX SP2 or Acceleration objects.

Lanseria Airport (IATA: HLA, ICAO: FALA) is a privately owned international airport that is situated in the north west of Johannesburg, South Africa. Built in 1974, it is used mainly for regional, corporate and diplomatic aircraft but can handle aircraft up to the Boeing 757-300 and Airbus A319. Although the passenger throughput is not as high as OR Tambo International Airport, Lanseria handles more aircraft movements (take-offs and landings) per year than any other airport in Africa.

Installation:

  1. Drop the FALA.bgl and FALA_cvx.BGL into your FSX/Addon scenery/scenery folder,and move the Scenery_Global_Scenery file (Airport_Buildings_AP.bgl) to the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\Global\Scenery" folder.
  • Important! Because FSX uses something like geo-locking You will have to COPY the BGL Files for Sydney, Vancouver, Heathrow, and Anchorage [Anchor] over from the FSX scenery [ AUST, EUROW,NAMW ] folder to the ADDON scenery/Scenery folder, as well as the associated textures from those folders to the ADDON Scenery /Texture folder. Otherwise you will NOT SEE the hangers used from those BGL files , see separate excel sheet for the Hangers used.

I have tried to make it close to realistic as possible using Airport Scenery Creator v1.40.07 and the objects that are available for use from FSX SP2 - Acceleration.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place AFCAD file

    AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
