This freeware package enhances the Boeing 757-300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 with a specialized British Airways repaint created by Alexei Yarlykov. The add-on highlights meticulously animated rolling tires, a functioning flap system, and reflective surfaces for an authentic visual effect. For proper operation, please note that it requires the B753PWVC.ZIP package.
Distinctive British Airways Touch
The included livery pays tribute to British Airways’ signature aesthetic, reflecting the airline’s prominence as a long-established flag carrier operating globally. In the real world, the Boeing 757-300 offers extended fuselage dimensions and fuel-efficient engines, making it a dependable choice for medium-haul routes. This repaint captures those attributes with convincing detailing and a vibrant fuselage texture.
Key Technical Highlights
- Realistic Wheels
- Each wheel assembly is animated to display rotational movement during taxi, takeoff, and landing phases.
- Retraction of Flaps
- The flaps perform reliable pitch control during all flight phases, simulating the actual aircraft’s lift and drag management.
- Reflective Exterior
- The fuselage and some cockpit elements use reflective effects to enhance visual depth and realism in various lighting conditions.
Step-by-Step Livery Integration
To install this repaint into your existing 757-300 folder, please follow these instructions carefully:
- Extract the contents of the downloaded .ZIP file into a temporary directory on your computer.
- Locate the folder named texture.X and place it into your FS2004\aircraft\b757-300 directory (where “b757-300” is your existing installation folder).
- Open the aircraft.cfg file in FS2004\aircraft\b757-300 and copy the corresponding text from b757xxx.cfg, then paste it under a new [fltsim.X] entry.
- In the original FS2004\aircraft\b757-300\Texture folder, locate the following seven files and replicate them into texture.X:
- b757_l.bmp
- P1_l.bmp
- vc757_l.bmp
- vc757_t.bmp
- vc757pr_l.bmp
- vc757pr_t.bmp
- vc.bmp
- Adjust “X” to a sequential number that does not conflict with your other Boeing 757-300 entries (for instance, [fltsim.5] if this is the fifth repaint in your collection). Rename the folder texture.X accordingly.
These graphic resources are derived from the creator’s original textures found in the Boeing 757-300 Continental release.
Aircraft Configuration Details
The segment below demonstrates how to append the installation block in your aircraft.cfg file. Make sure the X in each line corresponds to your own repaint numbering:
