(boeing 703 707-320C) Airborne Warning and Control System is a mobile, airborne command, control, communications and intelligence headquarters, used to detect and monitor enemy's air activity and to direct fighters in engagement. Based on Boeing 707-320 Airliner AWACS prototype first flew in 1972 and became operational in 1977. By Rok Dolenec.
