The Pan American Boeing 747-200F in this package reflects a treasured era in aviation, showcasing one of the world’s most iconic wide-body freighters as operated by Pan Am. Developed exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, this add-on combines historical accuracy with immersive technical details. Below, you’ll find an overview of its specialized features, historical context, and operational procedures that enhance the virtual piloting experience.

Pan American Cargo Heritage

Pan American World Airways played a pivotal role in introducing the Boeing 747 series to intercontinental routes. Their freight-configured 747-200F allowed global cargo operations thanks to the aircraft’s extensive range and robust payload capacity. This particular rendition honors the airline’s legacy, sporting a detailed livery painted by Nicholas Wilkinson, who accurately captured the distinct Pan Am logos and fuselage markings.

Credit to the Project Open Sky Team

This aircraft model stems from the dedicated work of the Project Open Sky group. Core contributors include C. Vincent Cho (Model Designer and Master Textures), Warren C. Daniel (Flight Dynamics Designer), Nick Peterson and Simon Ng Hin Tat (FDE Advisors), with Simon Ng Hin Tat also performing quality checks. Rigorous in-simulator testing was completed under the supervision of overall Project Open Sky members.

The Pan Am repaint itself is due to Nicholas Wilkinson, who is not a formal member of the Project Open Sky team but has provided this historically accurate livery for enthusiasts worldwide.
