Experience a highly refined DC-10-30F rendition built by SGA, now sporting dynamic wing flex behavior and enhanced flight handling fine-tuned by a real-world DC-10 pilot. This freeware release, meticulously repainted in Aeroflot’s distinctive scheme by Frank Idone, offers improved realism for those seeking an upgraded freighter variant within FS2004.
Showcasing McDonnell Douglas Advancements
The DC-10-30 series illustrates McDonnell Douglas engineering with a notable increase in wingspan, plus the addition of a center main landing gear axis for greater payload capacity. These structural changes differentiate it from the shorter-range DC-10-10. While the Series 30 was the most widely ordered version, freighter configurations like the -30F provide cargo operators with extended range and robust performance. Aeroflot, recognized worldwide for its extensive historical fleet, gains a new dimension through this thoughtfully rendered DC-10 cargo livery.
Dynamic Flexing Wings [motion simulation enhancements]
SGA’s “Dynamic Flexing Wings” technology visually depicts the aircraft’s wing surfaces moving up or down based on various phases of flight and ambient turbulence. During climb-out, you will see a slight upward lift on the wingtips, whereas turbulence or rough landings bring more pronounced oscillations. This detail aims to heighten immersion and replicate the actual physical stresses on the DC-10 wing structure.
Refined Flight Parameters
SGA, working in collaboration with a pilot who has flown genuine DC-10 services, introduces a custom flight model that accurately aligns with the real aircraft’s thrust, weight distribution, and control responses. Such tweaks result in more authentic handling throughout takeoff roll, cruise, and touchdown, ensuring consistent performance that aligns with core characteristics of the Series 30 variant.

Prerequisites and Basic Setup
This package requires the main SGA DC-10-30 base model (SGA1030.ZIP). After installing that core set, integrate this Aeroflot repaint and updated dynamics for use in FS2004. The following instructions ensure a straightforward implementation:
Folder Placement
- Unzip the contents of this package into the “aircraft” directory of FS2004.
- Verify that the texture folder named “texture=ru” is properly copied.
Aircraft Configuration Adjustments
In order for the Aeroflot livery to appear correctly, open your aircraft’s configuration file and add the new entry. If you already have multiple DC-10 repaints installed, adjust “fltsim.X” accordingly, remembering that FS2004 starts counting from 0:

description=Model by SGA, Aeroflot repaint by Frank Idone. The Series 30 added superior range and payload via extended wingspan and a center gear assembly. This package includes the -30F (freighter) version for added cargo capacity.
Highlights of the Freighter Version
This -30F adaptation adapts the venerable DC-10 airframe for heavy-lift operations. The cargo-specific fuselage allows for additional freight volume, making it popular among operators aiming to maximize long-haul capacities. Combining this practicality with Aeroflot’s distinctive aesthetics underscores the realism brought to your virtual flight deck.
Original development credits belong to SGA for both the core model and flight parameters. Livery by Frank Idone. This add-on stands as a testament to continuous improvements in visual fidelity and flight authenticity, and will undoubtedly refine your FS2004 hangar with its sophisticated wing animations and realistic handling.
