This freeware repaint places the Aerodesigns Airbus A318-111 in NedAir livery for regional routes around the Netherlands. It offers a compact fuselage and a distinctive tail, while still tying neatly into the Airbus A320 family. Installation is straightforward, and this package retains full functionality in FS2004. Created by Aerodesigns. Repaint by Erik Ehrhardt. Model design by Derek Mayer and Aviel Nahoum, with textures by Derek Mayer, Aviel Nahoum, Dario Carbone, and Michael Ldkte. The flight dynamics draw upon Pedro Oliveira's Airbus A320 work.

Overview

The A318-111 is about 2.4 meters shorter than the A319. Despite a shorter frame, this variant features a taller tail and a reconfigured wing shape. It also has a slightly smaller cargo door, while preserving many common systems with the rest of the A320 lineup. Its six-abreast cabin layout, advanced side-stick flight controls, and overall cockpit design allow for a shared type rating with other Airbus single-aisle aircraft. The first flight occurred on January 15, 2002, out of Hamburg-Finkenwerder. This repainted version, under the NedAir banner, brings regional flights to life in the simulator.

Installation Steps

description=The fourth member of the Airbus A320 family, the A318-111 is 2.4 meters shorter than the A319, yet sports a taller tail. The A318 also differs in that it has a modified wing shape and a smaller cargo door. Besides these and other smaller details, the A318 still retains much commonality with the rest of the Airbus A320 family, including, but not limited to, the advanced flightdeck with side stick controllers, fly-by-wire flight controls allowing for a common type rating, and the same six abreast cabin layout. The first flight was made on January 15, 2002 from Hamburg-Finkenwerder. Model by Derek Mayer and Aviel Nahoum. Textures by Derek Mayer, Aviel Nahoum, Dario Carbone, Michael Ldkte FDE based on Pedro Oliveira's Airbus A320. prop_anim_ratio=1.70

Key Features

  • Modern layout: Retains side-stick controllers and efficient cockpit displays.
  • Family commonality: Shares dimensions and systems with the A319 and A320, easing upgrades.
  • Regional focus: Operates short-hop NedAir routes within Dutch airspace.
