This package provides a dedicated repaint portraying the BelgiumExel Boeing 767-300 within FS2004. It features textures created by Jasper Hesselink that integrate seamlessly with AI Aardvark’s freeware Boeing 767-300 PW base model. BelgiumExel was part of the Exel Aviation Group and operated transatlantic flights using reliable twin-engine wide-body aircraft such as the 767 series, making this repaint a captivating choice for enhancing virtual airline operations. This add-on does not include the base file, so you will need to retrieve the official AI Aardvark model, which should be found in the Fly Away Simulation library.
Livery Package Details
The texture set (texture.dce) delivers the BelgiumExel visual identity, faithfully capturing the airline’s branding. It aligns with AI Aardvark’s emphasis on balanced polygon counts while still reflecting essential design elements. This ensures strong performance in congested virtual airports, particularly important when many AI aircraft populate the same scene.

Set-Up Procedure
- Copy the new texture.dce folder into your existing Aardvark 767-300PW directory.
- Paste the provided
[fltsim.x]
entry into your aircraft.cfg file, updating the x to the next sequential number.
Reflective Configuration Option
If you wish to switch from the non-reflective model to the reflective one, edit the aircraft.cfg file so that model=no_refl
becomes model=reflective
. Even though this variant relies on a reflectivity channel, the included textures do not currently support a high-gloss sheen. Accordingly, there will be no discernible difference, but the model can still be toggled if desired.
Performance and LOD Structure
Because the AI Aardvark foundation is built for efficient AI behavior, the aircraft is designed with multiple Levels of Detail (LOD). As the simulated 767-300 recedes in view, its polygon complexity is progressively reduced, lowering the system load. When stationed at gates in popular airports, you will notice minimal frame-rate impact, even with numerous aircraft in your field of view.
AI Flight Dynamics Considerations
The included FDEs (Flight Dynamics Engine files) strike a balance between lifelike departures and practical landings for AI operations. These parameters streamline traffic flow by ensuring aircraft execute shorter runs on the runway and exit promptly. If you prefer more floated landings, you can fine-tune values like cruise lift, parasite drag, and induced drag within aircraft.cfg.
All elements of this repaint are curated by Jasper Hesselink, with the core model and framework contributed by AI Aardvark. They have focused on optimizing visual fidelity for a realistic BelgiumExel 767-300 representation while maintaining smooth performance through each segment of the flight simulation experience.
