FS2004 National Airlines MD-11

This freeware repaint package brings National Airlines’ striking livery to the Overland Co., Ltd. MD-11 model, adding a refined level of authenticity for enthusiasts of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It has been carefully developed by Jim Waters and requires the version 2.0 release of the SMS Overland MD-11 (complete with Virtual Cockpit). The base file is not included here, so kindly download it from the Fly Away Simulation library before proceeding.

Installation Steps

Below is a concise procedure to merge this repaint with your existing SMS Overland MD-11 folder:

1. Ensure you have the SMS Overland MD-11 version 2.0 already installed in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
2. Back up any existing texture folder (if you wish) before copying new files. This precaution prevents unwanted overwrites.
3. To replace an existing skin, paste the new textures into the desired folder and confirm any overwrite prompts.
4. Alternatively, you can add a distinct texture name:
   • Create a duplicate of any existing texture directory.
   • Rename that folder to Texture.NAL (or another custom name of your choice).
   • Place the new texture files from this package into that renamed folder.

Aircraft.cfg Configuration

When adding this repaint as a new entry, update the aircraft.cfg file to reflect the new variant. An example of the necessary section is presented below:

Remember that fltsim.X should be replaced with the next available entry number. If it is the second livery in your list, use [fltsim.1] and so on. Modify the texture parameter to match the folder label you chose (for instance, Texture=NAL).

• This package is freeware, intended solely for the Overland MD-11 v2.0 with Virtual Cockpit.
• No base model is included. Obtain the required Overland package from the Fly Away Simulation mod library.
