This dual-display freeware package integrates an updated Fokker 60 flight deck panel configured for two wide-aspect monitors, giving both pilot and first officer distinct instruments and controls. It also provides a choice between a Delco Carousel Inertial Navigation System and a Bendix/King Flight Management system to suit different operational preferences. The included configuration allows a seamless transition between seats, ensuring proper runway views throughout takeoff, approach, and taxi maneuvers. Developed by Precision Aerobus and authored by Emile Lancee, this panel add-on requires the payware Fokker 60 for correct functionality, as original gauges are not included.

Technical Overview

The newly introduced panel setup takes into account widescreen ratios (sometimes referred to as panoramic displays) by reorganizing instruments. This design ensures each seat’s main instrumentation is kept on the left side when controlling the aircraft from a first officer perspective, thus enabling clear runway alignment. The Fokker 60 itself is a stretched variant of the Fokker 50, primarily used as a turboprop transport aircraft in various cargo and utility roles. The unique flight dynamics and cockpit procedures of this model are preserved, while enhanced panel elements help provide a more user-friendly workflow during IFR or VFR scenarios.

Key Features

  • Addition of selectable Delco Carousel (an inertial navigation interface) or BendixKing/Honeywell flight management for route handling.
  • Improved mouse-interactive controls for quick access to the parking brake, radio tuning, navigation adjustments, and yoke stow/unstow.
  • Reworked pedestal layout hosting all navigation management interfaces, plus an integrated audio panel for communication coordination.
  • Separate, undockable window for radio and navigation features, consolidating frequency tuning and audio controls in one place.
  • Clickable navigation display (both in 2D panel and virtual cockpit) that summons a pop-up combining navigation and altitude details.
  • Central Annunciation Panel (often abbreviated as CAP) refinement, allowing door control for the cargo or passenger doors directly in both the 2D and VC setups.

This concept utilizes a novel approach to cockpit management by aligning each crew member’s viewpoint with practical screen real estate. It is presented as an advanced freeware add-on to complement the existing payware Fokker 60 from Precision Aerobus. Installed in the simulator, it elevates turboprop procedural immersion while honoring the original aircraft’s avionics and flight envelope.
