Textures only for the default Douglas DC3. By James Underwood.
Screenshot of Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-3 in flight.
Always first make a backup of any files you will be modifying!
Create a folder within your FS9 Default Douglas DC-3 aircraft folder named "texture.vp" (without the " of course!). Copy all the texture files from the first texture folder into the texture.vp folder. Next, extract or unzip the contents of the VPdft.ZIP into texture.vp folder allowing the overwrite.
Now, open the Default DC-3 aircraft.cfg file with notepad. You will see a listing of the aircraft in there. At the end the aircraft listing, add (copy and paste) the following text example. Where "XX" is in this example, you will need to put the next sequential number that would follow the previous aircraft. If for example your last fltsim.XX aircraft entry is "3", you would duly replace the "XX" with "4" (without the quotes, of course):
[fltsim.XX]

description="The Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation and airline service during the 1930s and 1940s. It was a luxury airliner that boasted cabin heat and running water in its on-board lavatory. With the right balance of efficiency, range, speed, and payload, the DC-3 was the first aircraft to earn a profit for its owners just by carrying passengers. The hero of early airlines, a handful of DC-3s are still at work today."
Save the file, and you're done! Happy flying and thank you for choosing Val U Prop.
NOTE: If the above does not work overwrite one of the texture files in the texture folder of the Default DC-3, with the files in the ZIP file herein attached.
The archive vpdft.zip has 6 files and directories contained within it.
