This freeware package offers a retro-based texture set for early 1970s Aurigny operations involving the Britten-Norman Islander. Designed specifically for the payware Flight1/Virtavia BN2 Islander, it highlights the airline’s heritage when it served Channel Islands connections shortly after its founding. Created by Ian Roussel, it replicates the era’s distinct color scheme and tail markings for those looking to enrich Microsoft Flight Simulator X with historically styled commuter traffic.

Aurigny’s Early BN-2 Islander Operations

Aurigny Air Services began using Britten-Norman Islanders to facilitate short-hop flights across the Channel Islands. The BN-2 Islander itself, originally manufactured in the 1960s, is known for its reliable performance on minimal runways. Featuring a robust airframe and space for up to nine passengers, this twin-engined utility aircraft excels at handling windy conditions and short-field takeoffs. Painted in Aurigny’s livery from around 1970, this texture set allows simmers to recreate the authentic feel of a historic inter-island transport service out of Guernsey and Alderney.
