This repaint showcases a distinctive blue and white exterior for the Falco F.8L, originally crafted by Massimo Taccoli. It is specifically tailored for use with the freeware model that can be found in the Fly Away Simulation mod library. Designed by the renowned Ing. Stelio Frati in 1955, the Falco F.8L was first manufactured by Aviamilano before production rights transitioned to Aeromere S.p.A. and later Laverda S.p.A., resulting in the modernized Super Falco variant. This repaint incorporates the markings “N1774T” and was skillfully developed by Tom Tiedman.
Blue & White Livery Highlights
Above is an in-flight glimpse of the Falco F.8L with its blue and white aesthetic.
This enhancement adjusts the aircraft’s external textures without affecting flight dynamics or cockpit instrumentation, preserving its authentic handling characteristics in Microsoft Flight Simulator X or earlier simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
Key Technical Notes
- Freeware Base Required: Install the base Falco F.8L model by Massimo Taccoli and C. Lampard first.
- Realistic Laverda (Aviamilano) Branding: The included aircraft.cfg entries reflect the original manufacturer naming convention.
- Single-Engine Prop Architecture: Powered by a Lycoming engine that continues the legacy of Stelio Frati’s innovative design.
- Historical Accuracy: Incorporates design cues from the classic series, while honoring the modern “Super Falco” lineage with 160 HP.
Installation Process & Updated Smoke Configuration
- Place the enclosed texture.Blue N1774T folder into your Falco F.8L aircraft directory.
- Open the “aircraft.cfg” in that folder. Insert the [fltsim.X] entry shown below, replacing “X” with the correct numerical sequence among your existing repaints. Save the file.
- Locate this version under Laverda (Aviamilano) when selecting the aircraft in your simulator menu.
- If you want a single exhaust smoke trail in FSX (as opposed to the default multiple trails designed for FS2004), replace the original [SMOKESYSTEM] section in “aircraft.cfg” with the updated line shared below.
- Enjoy the flight with a refined and visually distinct Falco F.8L.

By integrating these files, you will add an elegant paint scheme inspired by aviation’s historical development of Italian-built sport aircraft, while retaining the best of the Falco F.8L’s flight performance. This repaint is strictly a texture update and does not include the base aircraft model. For the complete airframe necessary to fly, refer to the freeware model offered by Massimo Taccoli and C. Lampard.
