This striking red repaint delivers a bold exterior finish for the PWDT Zlin Z-142 freeware package, originally designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) and other compatible simulator platforms. It only provides replacement paint files and requires the standalone PWDT Z142 base files, which can be found in the Fly Away Simulation library. Created by Tom Tiedman, this modification blends crisp detailing with a vivid color scheme. It offers a realistic appearance of a real-world registration, N4956R, giving sim pilots a chance to experience a distinctive variant of this Czech-built training airplane.

Key Attributes of the Red Livery

The Zlin Z-142 is renowned for its reliable performance and forgiving flight characteristics, making it popular for primary instruction and aerobatic maneuvers. In this repaint, the vibrant red hue accentuates the airframe’s lines and highlights the aircraft’s fuselage contours. The registration markings match the real-life N4956R design, and the overall texture layout seamlessly integrates with the PWDT model’s geometry.

Implementation and Configuration Steps

  1. Extract and place the provided "texture.Red N4956R" folder into your existing Zlin Z-142 directory. This folder must reside alongside other texture directories within the main aircraft folder.
  2. Open the aircraft.cfg file in your primary Zlin Z-142 folder. Copy the [fltsim.X] entry provided below and paste it directly under the last [fltsim] section. Be sure to replace “X” with the next logical number in sequence.
  3. Save the updated aircraft.cfg file. Confirm that it reflects the correct file path for the textures.
  4. Launch your simulator and search under “Zlin” to locate this bright red edition. It should appear alongside other Z-142 selections you have installed.

hi ., I have problems with the texture,... I see the pilot and propellers completely black, even with the propeller spinning, looks like a big black shield in front of the aircraft. regards.
