Overview

The aircraft depicts registration G-VIIY in British Airways colors. Originally designed by Melvin Rafi (MELJET), this model has been expertly converted and updated for FSX by David Grindele. The project introduces tailored flight parameters to align with FSX standards. It also includes new 3D lighting effects (for those who use A2A 3D Lights and Redux), ensuring the airframe maintains a realistic night-flying environment.

Technical Enhancements

MELJET aircraft were originally developed for earlier simulators, so adjustments were necessary to optimize them within FSX. In this package, the air configuration files and related performance data have been refined to ensure realistic handling. The optional integration of A2A 3D Lights and Redux enhances illumination on external surfaces for genuine nighttime visibility. Additionally, the original visual fidelity remains intact, including the engine cowling animations that make internal turbine details visible by pressing Shift + E.

The Boeing 777-236ER often serves long-haul routes for British Airways. This model reflects the airline’s distinctive livery and design elements, presenting virtual pilots with an authentic long-range experience. Installation Steps

1. Extract and place the enclosed “Aircraft” folder into your main “SimObjects/Airplanes” directory within FSX.

3. No other components are required for normal operation. However, the A2A 3D Lights and Redux program is needed if you wish to enable the 3D lighting effects.

Testing was performed on Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows XP. No known compatibility issues have been reported for FSX environments.
