This freeware patch addresses the blurry texture issue on the default Beechcraft Baron 58 within Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Textures are replaced to enhance clarity throughout the fuselage and cockpit, leading to a sharper external view and more defined interior details. Created by Andrew McGowin and based on the original aircraft files by Microsoft, this fix delivers refined visuals with minimal effort.
Improved Surface Definition and Visual Clarity
The Beechcraft Baron 58 is well-known for its twin-engine piston reliability and effective cruising performance. However, in some default installations, the exterior surfaces can look washed out or slightly blurred. This texture update corrects such artifacts by supplying higher-quality image replacements, focusing on both the fuselage and the virtual cockpit. In turn, the fix contributes to a more immersive flying experience, especially for flights at lower altitudes or during close-up inspections in replay modes.
Technical Highlights
- Sharper Exterior Textures
- All key fuselage panels and wing surfaces now appear crisp, effectively eliminating any previous blurriness.
- Enhanced Cockpit Elements
- Minor improvements to internal textures help pilots focus on crucial gauges and switches without distraction.
- No Performance Penalties
- The replacement texture set has minimal impact on frame rates, ensuring smooth operation even in resource-heavy scenarios.
Implementing the Update
- Unzip the provided texture files into a temporary directory on your system.
- Locate the “aircraft\beech_baron_58\” folder inside your main simulator directory and back up any files that begin with “textures.”
- Copy the new “texture.” files from your temporary directory into the same aircraft folder, overwriting the originals.
- Enjoy the improved visuals during your next Baron 58 flight session.
It is recommended to ensure you have sufficient storage space for backups and to confirm that your file paths match those of the default aircraft directories. Though the Baron 58 texture issues are typically minor in older installations, this patch provides a robust solution for anyone seeking a more refined look.

Why doesn't the Baron have an analog Outside Air Temp needle in the gauge? How do I put one in?
