Editorial
I’ve had the pleasure of using this aircraft model in the past, but I decided to download this re-take thanks to the work by Maximos Sevastopoulo to recreate a proper Air Dolomiti design for the model. After I downloaded it and started up my FS2004 to see how it looked, I was very impressed.
Attention to detail is always very important but with this brilliant package, I found myself hugely impressed with the work that Maximos had been able to put in pace. It not only looked exceptionally realistic and carried all the hallmarks that you might expect in terms of precision, but it was also very much in scale.
So, what did I make of the quality of the design? Does this manage to carry off the textures in the way that you would have been expecting? I took a deep look at the real thing and compared it to this texture package to find out.
The Design
The design and the font was all in line with one another, and the overall attention to detail in the aircraft texture really tallied well with the original model. With everything in the place it should be in accordance with many different images that I looked at, this made it really easy to understand why this package was so well received.
It’s more or less spot on with its design and the attention to authenticity that it provides, making sure that you are left with a comfortable and realistic design. I would happily recommend that anyone with a history of using this aircraft, or who has used the Air Dolomiti model themselves in real life, try this out. It’s very attentive and does a great job of doing the real mode justice with so many little touches and additions that really spoke to me.
