FSX Skyhaven MAB AI Conversion

Skyhaven MAB AI Conversion turns Tim Conrad’s colossal Mobile Air Base into an AI Carriers-ready platform for FSX, enabling deck landings with outsized aircraft and dramatic takeoffs from the broad flying deck. Three configuration sets simulate 25-knot operations at 3,500 feet, 500 feet, or 130 feet, and requires the Skyhaven MAB scenery.

Skyhaven MAB AI Conversion. Tim Conrad's mighty MAB, the largest flying object in FSX, converted for AI Carriers. Have you ever wanted to deck land an AN-225? Have at it! Just how big is this thing? You can fly off the BWB at all up maximum weight, and land it back aboard! A B-58? No problemo! And you can have your dogs groomed while you relax on the sundeck at the Mile High Club... Three configuration sets are provided, the MAB cruising at 25 kts (we don't want to blow the guests at the Imperial over the side...) at 3500 feet, 500 feet, and surfaced at 130 feet. MAB scenery by Tim Conrad required (MAB-03SKYHAVEN.ZIP). By Mike Barnes.

Installation: You will have to down load the MAB file, and copy the contents of the texture folder to each of the texture folders in each af the AI MAB folders. Move the 3 MAB folders, MAB, MAB_Hi, MAB_VL, to your sim objects/Boats folder. Copy the effects folder contents to the FSX main effects folder. Add the AI Configuration lines to the AI Carriers config file. enjoy! The conversion was effected with BGLX, a terrific little freeware BGL/XML conversion tool. The No_Wake.Fx and sound file is poached from Thrawn's awsome Nimitz package. As ever, this package may not be sold, or a fee charged for access. This means YOU, Simnetwork! To quote Mr. Conrad 'Freeware Forever'. My eternal thanks to Piglet and Thrawn for the incredable freeware that adds so much to our hobby. The FS world would not be half as absorbing with out your talents, gentlemen!

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
