FSX Eglin Air Force Base Scenery

Eglin Air Force Base (KVPS) scenery enhances the Valparaiso, Florida area with a rebuilt layout that also covers Okaloosa Regional Airport in FSX. Expect expanded military cargo and combat parking, GA spots, helipads, jetways, vehicles, and base landmarks like a fire station, water tower, and flag, using only stock objects.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Eglin Air Force Base (KVPS), Valparaiso, Florida (FL). An improved version including Okaloose Regional Airport plus added parking, helipads and more. By Jim Cook.

MS didn't do much with military bases in FSX. Here is an improved version of the stock Eglin AFB, including Okaloosa Regional Airport. I added many Military_combat parking spaces and Military_cargo spaces, a couple helipads, and even a few GA spots for those officers with their own planes. I added commercial spaces at Okaloosa airport, three jetways, and a parking lot with vehicles. At Eglin, I added the fire station with a couple fire trucks, some military trucks, the water tower, and flag.

I use Just Flight's Military Plus Packs and they work fine with this airport. I also use Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis landclass but they are not required. All objects are stock FSX so no additional object libraries are needed.

I will be doing other military bases as time permits.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the two files AFX_KVPS_JC.bgl and KVPS_JC.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Finding the scenery

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
