Editorial

I decided to pick up this army medivac mod for the Bell 205a-1 for my use with FS2004 and FS2002. The design by Lynn Rogers is very impressive, carrying off many of the hallmarks of the real aircraft itself whilst giving it a fair amount of detail that would have been missing usually.

This not only makes it look far more authentic and helps to bring to life an interesting take on a particular brand of helicopter I had plenty of experience with, but it adds some very interesting little props and add-ons.

This is a great touch and one that should really help you understand and appreciate what a medivac actually carries on it. It looks great and makes it a lot easier to fly around in confidence, giving you a really authentic interior of the helicopter that should make it easier to locate the little extras and features.

The work by Mark Royle on the paint has been very impressive, too. Aside from everything following historical precedent and looking just as it should, this aircraft looks really impressive due to the limitations of the simulators it’s been made for use with. The badges, the little add-ons and the color scheme is just in line with the real thing which makes the whole mod look far more authentic.

I was just really impressed with this, even if it was somewhat limited in terms of new flight features. Given it’s for such an old batch of simulators, though, it’s a very impressive job that both of the designers have been capable of putting in place.

I would be quite happy to use this more in the past, and will definitely be using it with my older laptop which still uses FS2002 and FS2004! It’s a very impressive helicopter mod.
