FS2004 and FS2002 EFFECTS: Nick's Prop Dust with Control Gauges
This gauge/effects package automatically senses the terrain the aircraft is in contact with or flying over and changes the dust and water effects for the aircrafts prop/rotor wash based on dirt, dry mud or clay, snow, rain, water, ice, sand, gravel and short grass. By Nick Needham.

Editorial
I decided to try this having went back to FS2002 and FS2004 on an older machine. Having been lucky enough to do a lot of traveling I thought having a good simulator with me was a good plan. However, have you ever gone back to try out FS2002 or FS2004 after using FSX/P3D?
Dear lord, it’s hard!
Although great for the time, the simulators now look weak and worn. The textures are flat and muddy and the detail, realism and effectiveness just feels so muted. However, this nice little mod finally adds a feature I have simply grown to love and cannot do without – crop dusting!
I spend a large chunk of time (way more than I should!) running around crops and using crop duster effects. It’s the epitome of a cool aircraft scene for me, and has long been something that I pay a huge amount of interest to. However, the effects in both older simulators is nil.
It’s easy to control and looks great, with control gauges allowing for easy or excessive dusting. As a nice added extra this really goes a long way to making me really enjoy flying around in this manner.
So, with this, it adds that lovely effect whether you are flying over snow, rain, water, ice, sand, gravel, dirt or grass. It’s the best way to add in an effect that many of us just do not want to be without any longer.
This adds a nice touch and Nick Needham has just made old-school, vintage simulation look a lot better. It’s an add-on that many of us will no doubt wonder why it didn’t exist properly in the first place, but at least now we can go retro and still dust our crops at the same time!
Although it now pales in comparison to new simulator effects, it’s a well-thought and excellently portrayed look. Now, this goes an extra mile in offering a way to really enjoy your simulation even with all of those dreaded flat textures around you!
