White House Lawn Helipad Scenery.

Freeware Addon to Flight Simulator X. This was created with ADE 1.47.02 and tested on FSX Deluxe with FSX Accelleration.

Install:

1. Open your Addon Scenery file located at /Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery.

2. Copy the three (3) BGL files into that folder.

3. Restart FSX and enjoy landing on the White House Lawn!

Background Info (from personal experience and documentaries):

Reagan National Airport is approximately 1-2 miles South of the White House. They supply one of their yellow airport fire trucks just in case there is a problem with Marine One. There is always an ambulance on standby for the President and of course his motorcade.

I also created a centerline to line the helicopter up with when landing. Marine One always lands facing East so the President can exit the helicopter on the LEFT side.

Marine One also usually makes its approach from the Washington Monument directly towards the landing zone and then hovers over the landing zone and turns 90-degrees to the RIGHT to land. When it takes off, it hovers over the landing pad, turns RIGHT 90-degrees and heads directly towards the Washington Monument before turning towards its destination.

Air Force One is stored at Andrews AFB which is about 10 miles East of the White House.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
