The Commodore was a derivative of the PY-1 flying boat. It first flew in 1930. Pan American Airways bought several for use on it's runs from the U.S. East Coast to the Caribbean. It could carry 22 passengers in what was considered the lap of luxury for the day. This is a FSX Acceleration native project. It is based on my FS9 project of a few years back but almost all of the original source code was modified (improved, hopefully). It has the usual animations, .dds textures, night textures, and a modest specular shine. I could not find any documentation of the panel or cockpit so I based it on a very early PBY Catalina photo. The VC has working gauges and animated flight controls. There is no 2D panel. (Feel free to add one of your choice). I have aliased the Grumman Goose sound file which you can change if desired.

The Commodore takes a fair take-off run and lifts off very gracefully at about 90 knots.

INSTALLATION: Unzip CommovX.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Consolidated Commodore into the Airplanes folder of FSX. Open the gauges folder in the download and copy the three .cab files into the Gauges folder of FSX. Copy them "as is", don't open them. You may already have these gauge files installed in the FSX Gauges folder from other projects. If so, these are not needed.

Enjoy! P. Clawson
