Original Readme by Francisco Sánchez-Castañer:

ATR72-500 version 1 in Iberia Regional / Air Nostrum colors. Designed by F. Sánchez-Castañer for FS2002 Professional Edition (Works with limited functionality in standard edition). Includes virtual cockpit, highly realistic custom panels and gauges with non-standard functions tailor made to match the real aircraft systems, custom sounds. Included in this package is also a manual/checklist by Werner Schott.

INSTALLATION:

You should have a basic idea of the flight simulator files and folders structure in order to perform the installation. Remember one thing: if you are prompted to overwrite a file, don't do it unless you are 100% sure what you're doing (maybe you made a mistake and are about to delete your favourite plane, so don't do it).

Unzip the contents of aircraft.zip into your fs2004aircraft folder, keeping the original folder names (use the option "keep folder names"in WinZip).

IMPORTANT: INSIDE THE PANEL ARCHIVE THERE ARE THREE CABINET FILES CONTAINING GAUGES (.cab extension may be hidden in your system). DO NOT DE-COMPRESS THEM!!! DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILES INSIDE THEM!!!

IF YOU DECOMPRESS IT, MOST PROBABLY HALF OF THE GAUGES WILL BE MISSING IN YOUR PANEL.

YOU CAN MAINTAIN ALL THE GAUGES IN THE PANEL FOLDER AS FS09 PERMIT THAT THEY WORK IT O.K.

Go to the Docs folder, double-click on file "ATR42.htm" and read it carefully. Aircraft systems and other details are described there. The gauges, are programmed to accurately reproduce the real aircraft; please read carefully the documentation before contacting for help. If you still have some question, I regularly visit the Flight Simulator Forum at Avsim. I highly recommend visiting this forum. If you still dont get an answer to your question, my e-mail address is at the end of this document. Be patient, it might take a long time to get an answer via e-mail.

Included in this package is a file named manatr725.zip . This file contains the manual/checklist by Werner Schott. Unzip the contents of this file to a folder of you choice. The checklist can be printed for more realistic simulation.

REPAINTS
If you want to create and distribute a repaint for this aircraft, please do it as follows:

- Option 1: If you create a textures-only package, you don't need my permission, the files files made by you are yours. Just remember to write an aircraft.cfg file matching the new livery, and to provide a link to my archive. Don't forget to identify the files as yours.

- Option 2: If you wish to distribute a full package aircraft + textures, please note: The docs folder must remain unchanged, and must be included in the release. You must include a file called readme.txt with your name, e-mail address or other contact information, and a list specifying which files are belonging to my original release, and which files have been created or modified by yourself. At the end of this file, write "TEXT OF THE README FILE FROM THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR:", then copy the entire text of this file you are reading now, including my copyright information (of course my copyright excludes those created by you). Please do not include my panel in a different aircraft. You must instruct the end user to contact you in case of problems with the plane; I will not support any other release than this ATR72-500 EC-HBY in Iberia Regional - Air Nostrum livery. Please send me a link to your repaint.

This aircraft is released as Freeware. As freeware you are permitted to distribute this archive subject to the following conditions:

Editorial

Having been told many good things about this by colleagues, I decided to finally peak my interest and try out this wonderful remake of the ATR 72-200/500 range. So, what did I think of it?

The Design

The quality of the design in the model is absolutely spectacular, giving me all the help that I needed to buy into the overall performance and style of the aircraft. When flying it helps to really feel part of the flight and this does a great job of doing that. Each of the four liveries looked excellent on the base model, making something fun and exciting that really came together and looked exceptional.

The body textures by Edward Cox are very impressive, as are the photorealistic panels inside by Harald Scheidl and Jean-Pierre Langer. The design provides plenty of functionality alongside the control of the aircraft, making it easier to control in general. The accuracy in the design is hugely impressive in general, with full animations, working lights which are accurately placed and a whole lot more all coming together in one fancy design that truly looks the part.

Many other good and effective features exist along the way such as ATR turboprop sounds as well as improved minor changes to help set the scene of the aircraft as much as anything.

The Performance

However, this really comes to life when you start to take into account the performance levels that it can hit. This does a huge job of helping the whole thing feel special and effective, adding a new and effective system that you can truly love being a part of. I felt at home within this aircraft and the accuracy of the flight dynamics was something that really caught my attention. It feels accurate and easy to fly.

This aircraft takes good care of itself in the skies and makes sure that you’ll have no problem handling its various extra features and systems that you can use. Not only is it quite easy to get around in and enjoy dying with, but it adds such a nice array of little features.

For example, the new animations are all easily accessible and give you nice little aircraft related features that look cool and add a nice little touch of realism to the whole occasion, giving you an easy way to understand the way that your aircraft would be operating in reality.

It’s these little things that always tend to impress and captivate me, and with the ease of installation provided you can easily change the livery, the gauges and everything else to fit the style that you want. This is a very easy to use product and the immense level of detail gone into by the designer both in the actual mod itself and then the installation and instructions makes this an absolute dream to use.

If you have been looking for an effective way to get to grips with the wonderful world of the ATR-72 aircraft then this might just be the perfect package to pick up and get to grips with.

there is no native FSX "modules" folder that I know of, are you sure you didn't mean "gauges".
