Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Experience refined regional performance with this freeware National ATR 72-500 package, ideal for short-haul hops in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It is meticulously crafted to emphasize realism and reliability during commuter journeys, and it includes a complete base model.

Key Attributes of the ATR 72-500

The ATR 72-500 is a twin-engine turboprop airliner designed primarily for short-range operations. It is recognized for its balanced fuselage dimensions and straight wing structure, which promote efficient performance on shorter runways. This particular series incorporates advanced PW127 engines (in brackets: PW127 are Pratt & Whitney powerplants specifically fine-tuned for better fuel burn), and it typically accommodates around 72 passengers, making it a popular choice for regional carriers worldwide.

Model Details and Acknowledgments

Mike Stone is credited for developing the underlying model. He has built a reputation for designing accurate external shapes and animations that faithfully replicate real aircraft. Meanwhile, David Grindele has contributed the detailed repaint, featuring the distinctive National livery. This scheme aligns perfectly with those who seek authentic visuals while exploring various airfields or undertaking scheduled operations in remote regions.

Not a bad plane at all. The exterior looks ok. It would be nice to have a VC pit but all in all everything works fine.
