Editorial

Having been recommended this by a friend on the forums, I decided to give the DHC6-300 a try today. I have to say that after many hours of hitting the skies and flying popular air lines, I love this aircraft!

The layout is excellent, the design is precise and it’s incredibly easy to install then use. What’s not to like?

A Dream to Use

For a start, installation is just a matter of following some very basic instructions. All you need to do is extract the files into your Main folder and let the magic work. It’s so easy to use that I had it running in about five minutes, probably less in truth!

It took longer to download than install and that’s a very good thing. Outside of installation, though, this was about as fun as it could be to fly. The design is brilliant, the layout is fresh and the performance is attentive and authentic.

All in all, this is one of the most enjoyable De Havilland aircraft mods that I’ve used. Not only is this going to provide you with all the help that you need in enjoying flying an aircraft that’s underappreciated, but it offers something fresh and fun to try out.

Plenty to Try

One of the main features that instantly grabbed my attention (and my heart) was its versatility. This aircraft feels like a CASSIO keyboard; such is the variety of key strokes that you can use. It’s got plenty of brilliant little activated hotkeys and extras. From raising the seat higher up by using SHIFT+ENTER to hearing doors opening and closing, this goes the extra mile for atmosphere.

It’s the little things that are usually static placeholders that come to life when you are using this mod, as it offers something fresh. Instead of just being flat texture doors that help to finish the image but cannot be used, this offers nearly everything you would need.

I actually found myself a little puzzled when I first took off! It was a challenge to know if I was using the cockpit correctly. With all of the little extras to open doors and view data, I felt a little overwhelmed.

After a few hours, though, I quickly got my hands on the aircraft and made it fly how I had intended originally.

This resulted in a much more enjoyable flight system that felt fresh and honest.

Authentic to Fly

Best of all, though, this aircraft feels real. I looked into the length, height, wingspan and overall speed and this has everything right. From the 12,500lbs maximum take-off weight to the wingspan being spot on, this is in scale and on time with each feature.

I really felt impressed hitting the sky in this piece of work. It’s fresh, innovative and genuinely exciting. The developers have done a great job of making sure this aircraft can become more popular for those still learning their way around the world of aviation. Whether you’re a veteran or a pro, though, you will love using this De Havilland mod!
