Discover a finely detailed rendition of ERA Aviation’s 19-seat Beechcraft B1900D, designed for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, featuring precise animations, reflective exteriors, two distinct panel configurations, and full compatibility with Acceleration/SP2. Developed by Barry Blaisdell, Jean-Pierre Brisard, Bob May, Danny Crance, and Kevin Pardy (Premier Aircraft Design), this freeware package includes everything needed to immerse sim pilots in Alaskan regional airline operations.
Key Characteristics of This B1900D
Fully Animated Exterior: This new model incorporates landing gear articulations, control surface motions, and elements like a custom airstair and cargo access panels. These details replicate the ergonomics of the real-world B1900 series.
Reflective & Dynamic Visuals: High-fidelity textures produce shine effects on the fuselage, especially noticeable during varied lighting conditions. Users will see subtle changes on the surface as they shift vantage points or transition between day and night.
Accurate Flight Deck: Included in this release is a complete 2D panel, complemented by a virtual cockpit (VC) that aligns with the actual aircraft’s layout. Custom gauges are incorporated, but some systems may be more compatible with certain graphics configurations.
Immersive Interior Configuration: The virtual cabin is modeled with passenger seating, reflecting the genuine 19-seat commuter arrangement used by ERA Aviation. With overhead details and window views, the interior is designed for realistic regional turboprop travel simulation.
Authentic Sound Package: An integrated audio suite reproduces the distinctive twin-engine drone associated with the Beechcraft B1900D, offering a balanced cockpit and cabin effect.
Installation and Panel Options
- Unpack the Provided Archive: Extract all contents from the ZIP directly into your main FSX directory, ensuring that all files go to their intended paths.
- Recognize Dual Panel Listings: The aircraft selection interface will show two entries labeled “PANEL 1” and “PANEL 2.” Both reference the same external aircraft but differ in panel configurations.
- Assess Graphics Compatibility: Some users find one panel’s gauges more compatible with older or specialized graphics cards. If both work seamlessly on your setup, you may opt for the panel that appeals most, especially regarding night lighting.
- Lightweight Asset Impact: The system does not load duplicate models; only the panel folders are repeated. The primary aircraft files remain singular.
Aircraft and Airline Background
The Beechcraft B1900D is well-known in commuter aviation circles for its reliability, versatility, and efficient short-haul performance. ERA Aviation, operating in Alaska, has historically utilized turboprop aircraft in demanding weather and rural environments. This simulated package replicates ERA’s regional transporter with high fidelity, capturing the nuances that pilots will recognize from real-world operations.
All components are fully freeware to share and enjoy, delivering an authentic version of ERA Aviation’s Beechcraft B1900D to Microsoft Flight Simulator X enthusiasts. Each feature was developed in collaboration with Premier Aircraft Design (Barry Blaisdell, Jean-Pierre Brisard, Bob May, Danny Crance, and Kevin Pardy), ensuring that every visual accent and system modeling detail meets exacting standards for a realistic Alaskan flying adventure.
