FSX Thomas Ruth Boeing 727-100 And 200 Smoke Fix. FSX-SP2/ACC (probably SP-1 as well) engine smoke effects for the Thomas Ruth Boeing 727-100 and 727-200. If your computer displays Tom Ruth's engine smoke as opaque very black smoke or opaque black polygons spinning through the air behind the jet, this fix may be right for you. Easy installation. DESCRIPTION:

FSX-SP2/ACC (probably SP-1 as well)
engine smoke effects for the
Thomas Ruth Boeing 727-100 and 727-200,
which you must have previously installed
in FSX. If your computer is like mine and
displays Tom Ruth's engine smoke as opaque
very black smoke or opaque black polygons
spinning through the air behind the jet,
this fix may be right for you.

INSTALLATION:

1.) IMPORTANT... this new smoke will no
longer increase or decrease with the
increase or decrease of the throttles,
so if that feature is important to you,
stop right now and keep Mr. Ruth's smoke.

2.) IMPORTANT... in order to use this new
smoke, you MUST open your FSX "Effects"
folder, scroll down to find the
"fx_727engsmoke" and "fx_727engsmoke2"
effects files, and DELETE THEM BOTH.

3.) Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6"
file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It
is probably there already).

4.) Notice there are 2 [SMOKESYSTEMS] listed
below. One is for the 727-100, the other
is for the 727-200. Open your 727-100 and
727-200 "aircraft.cfg" files, then copy and
paste the corresponding [SMOKESYSTEM] info.
below into your "aircraft.cfg" files.
I pasted mine at the bottom of both files
with good results. (Then click 'file',
then click 'save', of course.

5.) Press your "I" key while flying your 727's
and enjoy the smoke!

For 727-100...
