The Bristol Britannia (known by many enthusiasts as the “Whispering Giant”) is a mid-to-long-range turboprop airliner that flew extensively during the 1950s and 1960s. Monarch Airlines, established in the United Kingdom, operated several aircraft of this type for charter operations and leisure flights. This variant depicts the Bristol Britannia 312, featuring four turboprop engines that provided reliable transatlantic service. Jens Kristensen’s JBK Britannia captures the robust design with detailed animations, making it highly regarded among classic airliner fans.

Key Repaint Details

This release includes textures only, specifically for the model authored by Jens Kristensen. The download requires the BRT_V10X.ZIP base installation to function correctly. Developer Gary Harper has opted to replicate the registration G-AOVH, which was frequently partnered with Monarch’s operations.

Configuration Adjustments

Add the following lines to your aircraft.cfg file, replacing “xx” with the next appropriate numeric index. This instructs the simulator to recognize and load the repainted model:

Placing Texture Folders

• Step 1: Copy the texture.Mon folder into your JBK Britannia directory.
• Step 2: Take the texture.shared folder and also merge it with the existing texture.shared folder in the same directory. Overwrite when requested.
