The Sud-Ouest Djinn depicted in this file is of the second version of the helicopter. The copter is colored dark blue with a distinctive cockpit and tail section. The Sud -Ouest Djinn is a two seat French helicopter built by the company that would later become Sud Aviation.

The copter was first flown in 1953 and production for commercial use began in 1954. According to French Statistics there were 178 of the craft produced by the time the helicopter ceased production in the mid 1960‘s.

The plane was popular with the French Army in the years following World War II. The Plane was also used by the German Air Force for observation, training, and sometimes casualty evacuation. In some places the helicopter was acquired by civilians for the purposes of agriculture and crop spraying.

The Sud-Ouest Djinn is powered by compressed air jets at the end of each rotor. The model was heavily based off the earlier Ariel Tip jet helicopter. The Djinn also takes advantage of a Turbomeca Palouste turbo-compressor in the rear for increased thrust.

The Aircraft has a unique looking tail boom that features twin fins and a rudder for increased maneuverability. The plane has a maximum speed of 81 MPH and a service ceiling of 3,000 meters.
