FSX Not So Blue Sea Textures

Not So Blue Sea Textures tones down FSX shallow-water blues with darker, more natural coastal colors while keeping the contrast needed for clear shoreline definition. The set replaces default world water textures to deliver subtler seas and a more believable look from low-level VFR hops to high-altitude cruising.

For those of you who are annoyed by the very bright blue of FSX shallow waters. The darkened textures of this set preserve the required contrast and are closer to average coast water colors. By Luiz Alvarenga.

Installation:

  • Copy and paste all the files supplied in the "Scenery-World-Texture" to the Scenery/World/Texture folder of your FSX main directory. Say Yes to overwrite existing files.
  • That's all!

If you want to restore the original files, they are in the supplied "Originals" folder.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme
