This convenient package, introduced by the XPFW creators, provides a specialized set of Boeing 777 AI aircraft built for minimal performance impact in X-Plane 10. It is intended to replace default AI traffic with more authentic visuals and basic aerodynamic behavior, while avoiding the substantial framerate penalties often caused by using full-featured airliners as AI.

Technical Adjustments for Better Performance
The developers at XPFW meticulously reworked the model files to keep frame drops to a minimum. They removed cockpit panels, extraneous sounds, and internal instrumentation to reduce overhead. They also replaced and compressed multiple textures to fit more efficiently in memory. Additionally, simpler 3D geometry was implemented to limit polygon count while preserving recognizable external shapes. Beyond these visual optimizations, the flightmodel (the data defining an aircraft’s aerodynamics) was scaled back to help the simulator calculate AI behavior much more efficiently.
Refined AI Flight Behavior
According to the XPFW team, default AI logic can sometimes interpret complex airliner data in unintended ways. To address this, key parameters were tweaked so the AI pilot would taxi, take off, and land in a more realistic manner. These adjustments ensure a smoother AI experience even when numerous Boeing 777s populate the virtual airport.
Included B777 Variants
This release features 10 liveries spanning different B777 versions. It covers both the B777-200LR model and the B777-300ER model, representing multiple global carriers:
- B777-200LR in Delta, Emirates, FedEx, and PIA markings
- B777-300ER in Air France, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, KLM, Qatar, and Singapore paint schemes
These liveries showcase the Boeing 777, a twin-engine, wide-body platform configured for long-haul operations across the globe.
Acknowledgements
Thanks go out to the entire group of original artists and livery specialists at XPFW who initially designed and painted these Boeing 777 models. Their dedication makes this AI pack possible. This release is known to function only with version 10 of X-Plane, and additional aircraft packs are expected to appear in the future.
Installation Steps
- Unzip the downloaded package.
- Move the folder containing these optimized AI aircraft into your main “Aircraft” directory for X-Plane 10.
- Launch X-Plane 10 and open the “Aircraft & Situations” menu.
- Visit the “Other aircraft” tab to select and replace default AI with the XPFW Boeing 777s.
- Repeat for as many AI slots as you wish to fill.
- Finish your setup and resume flying to enjoy an active environment.
This update helps ensure smooth backgrounds of traffic without the heavy framerate cost of unoptimized airliners. Created by XPFW, this freeware add-on aims to extend the lifetime of their Boeing 777 models by making them versatile AI performers in X-Plane 10.

hi, why the 777 doens't have an animated cockpit? All i can see is black one.
