This freeware package brings the Skynet Boeing 737-300 into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, showcasing precise modeling, detailed animations, and a unique livery representing an Irish carrier. Developed by Erick Cantu and FFX, then carefully repainted by Leigh Green, this complete add-on simulates the essential qualities of the 737 Classic series while providing key enhancements for an immersive flight deck experience.
Highlighting the Irish Airline Connection
Skynet, an airline hailing from Ireland, operates flights across short-to-medium routes, emphasizing efficient passenger services. This repaint matches the airline’s visual identity accurately, reflecting the subtle national flair that sets it apart from other carriers in the region.

Intricate Boeing 737 Classic Modeling
The developers originally initiated their 737-500 concept using FSDS1 for previous simulator versions. However, the project transformed into a Gmax build that spans the entire 737 Classic family, including variants from the -300 to the -500. This release focuses on the -300 configuration, although related models in the Classic range have also been crafted in parallel. The robust structure of this add-on captures the hallmark aerodynamics of the Boeing 737-300, known for its CFM56 engines and practical wing design that delivers dependable performance.
Advanced Animations and Specialized Features
- Main Cabin Door: Triggered with Shift+E, it simulates a standard commercial passenger entry.
- Airstairs Deployment: Assign a separate control for wing fold to extend onboard stairs for ground operations. Keep in mind that with stairs deployed, flight is not feasible.
- Retractable Lights: The real 737 Classics retain landing lights on their flap canoes. In this package, their extension depends on a tailhook key assignment.
Immersive Engine Soundset
Recorded primarily from United, JAT, and Air France Boeing 737 variants, the CFM56-3 soundset delivers an authentic cabin environment. The audio level mirrors the intense noise experienced without a headset in a real cockpit. Should you prefer quieter volumes to better hear simulated ATC chatter, adjust the engine volume slider within the simulator’s settings rather than editing any files directly.
Configuration Snippet
Below is a segment of the aircraft configuration demonstrating how the Boeing 737-300 entry is defined within the simulator:

description=One should hardly be surprised that the world's most prolific manufacturer of commercial aircraft is also the producer of the world's most popular jetliner. The 737 became the best-selling commercial jetliner worldwide when orders for it hit 1,831 in June 1987 (surpassing Boeing's own 727 as the previous champ). However, it wasn't always that way... in the first few years of production, there were so few orders that Boeing considered canceling the program. They didn't, and the airplane has more than proven itself in over three decades of service.
Refined Classic for Dedicated Enthusiasts
This fully formed package is suitable for hobbyists who appreciate the historical significance of the Boeing 737-300 design. With careful attention to modeling details, authentic engine sounds, and a meticulously replicated livery by Leigh Green, pilots can immerse themselves in the familiar instrumentation of the 737 cockpit. Throughout the process, Erick Cantu and FFX have ensured the aircraft captures the core performance characteristics that made the 737 Classic series a staple in airline fleets around the globe.
